Geoff Hixson

Congratulations to Geoff Hixson for his induction in the UHS Alumni Hall of Fame. Geoffrey (Geoff) C. Hixson is a 1989 graduate of Unity High School where he was a three sport seven-time letter winner and All-Area Honoree. Geoff helped to lead the Rocket Football team to their third playoff appearance in school history playing quarterback.

After High School, Hixson earned a Speech Communication degree in 1993 from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and then a masters degree in Sports Management from the University of Oklahoma in 1996.

Mr. Hixson started his professional career with the Texas Rangers AAA Affiliate Baseball Club – the Oklahoma City 89’ers. In 1997, he joined the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association and went on to become their Chief Operating Officer. The MLBPAA is the preeminent Major League sports alumni group, possessing more than 20,000 members and has grown to be an international organization. It provides support for the former MLB player after their playing days, teaches the game of baseball to thousands of youth worldwide yearly and raises money for charities through special events- to date more than $100 million.

Mr. Hixson lives in Colorado Springs, CO with his wife Nancy and their children Bryce and Avery.
