Mr. Reetz came to Unity High School in the fall of
2004. He has previous teaching
experience at Heyworth High School, Monticello High School, and Pekin High
School.
Mr. Reetz is a 2003 graduate of Illinois State University where he majored
in Social Sciences. He is
highly certified in the areas of US History, World History, Civics and
Government, Sociology, Geography, and Anthropology. While at Illinois State University,
Mr. Reetz was a Division 1 scholarship athlete as an offensive lineman for
the Redbird football team. Mr.
Reetz also was a member of the AFNI Athletic Director’s Honor Role. As a senior Mr. Reetz was selected
to represent all athletes at Illinois State University as the torch lighter
for the Walk of Champions Ceremony.
Mr. Reetz is a 1998 graduate of Monticello High
School. While in high school
he was very active in organizations such as band, football, LifeSavers,
track and field, FFA, FCA, and Spanish Club. As a junior at Monticello, Mr. Reetz was elected to
attend the National Youth Leadership Conference sponsored by Farmland.
Since coming to Unity High School, Mr. Reetz has also
been a part of the Unity Rockets Football coaching staff. He is the Freshmen Head Coach and a
Varsity Assistant on the Offensive and Defensive Lines. In this time period the Rockets
have enjoyed two of the most successful seasons in school history with a
combined record of 22-5. They
have also played in two semi-final games and one IHSA State Championship
game. Coach Reetz also helped
coach the Rocket offensive line that helped Henry Deters break the IHSA
all-time career record for rushing with 7,366 yards.
