The 2004 WYSE team had success this year. Team members included Laura Eisenmenger, Dustin Hadden, Clay Harden, Nick Hausman, Matthew Herriott, Tony Miller, Chase Nappe, Chase Rashid, Nathan Reifsteck, Ross Robinson, Trent Starcevich, Ben Thomas, Dylan VanWynen, and Samantha Woodworth.

In February the team placed 1^st in Division 700 schools at the Regional competition held at Parkland College and also won several individual medals. Placing 1^st and 2^nd respectively in Mathematics were Dustin Hadden and Clay Harden. Placing 1^st in Chemistry was Dustin Hadden. Placing 3^rd in English was Samantha Woodworth. Placing 1^st and 2^nd in Physics were Dylan VanWynen, Tony Miller, and Chase Rashid. Placing 1^st and 2^nd in Computer Science were Chase Rashid and Trent Starcevich.

In March the team competed at the Sectional competition held at Eastern Illinois University. Dustin Hadden placed 1^st in Chemistry and 2^nd in Mathematics. He advanced to the State competition.

All team members should be proud of their accomplishments. While WYSE is a competition that allows for individual advancement, it takes an entire team and all of their scores to advance the team. The accomplishments of the WYSE Academic Challenge team reflect well upon the students, parents, faculty, school, and communities of this district.
