COLLEGE INFORMATION
APPLICATION CHECKLIST
Most
college applications will be completed by mid-fall of your senior year.
Below you will find a checklist for online and paper applications.
ONLINE APPLICATIONS
- Browse the college/university's website.
- Read through all instructions.
- Complete/submit application.
- Pay application fees online, if applicable.
- Print and deliver any forms to be
completed by your counselor, teacher, or other reference.
- Include the applicant's Social Security
Number on any checks and/or essays.
- Inform your counselor that your
application has been submitted.
- Gather
any required letters of recommendation and turn into your counselor
along with transcript request and any other paperwork required for the
application.
- Complete and sign a yellow Online
Application Transcript Request Form (available from your counselor).
- Be patient as the college processes your
application and makes a decision.
- Be aware that housing, financial aid, and
scholarships unique to specific colleges typically separate
applications.
PAPER APPLICATIONS
- Request paper application from your
counselor or from the college/university's website.
- Read through all application instructions.
- Complete application.
- Deliver any forms to be completed by your
counselor, teacher, or other reference.
- Include the applicant's Social Security
Number on any checks and/or essays.
- Turn
in completed application to your counselor along with any required
letters of recommendation, application fees, and/or essays. Counselors
will ensure that the application is complete, copy and include a
transcript, and mail the application.
- If you have not already done so, complete a
blue Transcript Request Form (available from your counselor).
- Be patient as the college processes your
application and makes a decision.
