Tutoring
Unity High School offers several different opportunities for students to receive academic assistance and/or tutoring.  Students who have difficulty in class or just need to confirm their understanding of concepts before a quiz or test have places to turn when they are in need of help.

Teachers
The best place to seek assistance in any class is with the teacher you have for that subject matter or with another teacher within that same department.

Teachers are available for at least 30 minutes before and after school each day. Teachers meet with many students during this time so if you are in need of more one-on-one assistance, make an appointment.  Another method or option is to email your teacher.  While this might not be the best way to receive immediate answers, email might be an option for less urgent questions or homework clarification.  A list of teachers and their emails can be found here:  Faculty.

Help from other sources
Volunteer Illini This resource is only available through your counselor.  Only very focused students who are very serious about receiving help and will spend extra time attempting to improve their work will be considered by this group.  All students are screened through an application process.  Please be aware that you may need to provide your own transportation to a common tutoring site and that if you cancel your tutoring time even once, you could be dropped from the program.

National Honors Society
Seniors in the National Honor Society provide a peer tutoring program through the counseling office.  Students who are interested in receiving tutoring need to complete a tutoring request in the counseling office or see their counselor.  Students requesting tutoring will be assigned a tutor based upon their need, the availability of tutors and the times available to be tutored.
