Career Corner
There are five general post-high school options to consider:
marriage/work, military, vocational/technical, junior
college/certification, junior college/transfer, and four year
college/university. All choices, programs, and training will
eventually lead to a career. While it is unusual for any person
to be in the job they imagine for themselves in high school, the
resources at Unity and on the web for career exploration will hopefully
narrow down the search or expose students to some of the options
available.

Military Service
Some people choose the military as a way to develop themselves, serve
others, and/or pay for furthering their education. If you are
considering a commitment to the U.S. Military as a possible career
move, you may use the following links to explore those options.

Students considering entering the mulitary for a short period of time
or as a possible career need to clearly understand the following
phrase: "Ready for work, ready for college, ready for the
military." The single, most important criteria for placement in
the military is scoring well on the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational
Aptitude Battery) assessment. The ASVAB is comprised of math,
verbal, and technical tests. This score is the main factor of
determining what job will be available to you in each of the armed
services.
