Grading Scale
Grading in Wind Ensemble (band) and
Jazz Rock Band is catagorized in a few different ways.
Rehearsal Grade:
Evaluation of student participation on a specific rehearsal.
Weekly
Grade: Evaluation of cosistent student participation and
progress in a
given week.
Check-off:
The pass or fail of a given skills test or work sheet.
This grade can be retaken as often as necessary.
Performance
Grade: Evaluation of student participation in a concert setting.
This grade represents a quarterly grade. This grade will
have a significant impact on the student's grade.
Failure
to perform at a concert will drop the student's grade by
one letter. Details of the performance demands on
the
student are coverd in the student Music Department
Contract.
All grades are set to the district values below:

89-80 |
| C |
79-70 |
| D |
69-60 |
| F |
59 or lower |
Participation and performance grades are applied to the
individual. Each student
is evaluated as to his or her individual skill level. Students
are not graded against
one another.
