Classroom Rules and Requirements
Mrs. Eisenmenger – English
I
Be ready to begin class when the bell rings. The school rule is a
detention for being late to class. Walking in as the bell rings is
considered late.No food, pop, or gum is allowed in the classroom. Be respectful, courteous, and positive toward others and yourself. Do not use profanity, crude language, or crude gestures. The common courtesy of silence should be observed when either I or a classmate is speaking. In most cases receive permission to speak so that everyone has the opportunity to participate in class discussions. Respect for the classroom and everything in it such as desks, file cabinets, bulletin boards, and books is assumed. No writing on desks will be tolerated. Assignments are considered late if they are turned in after I have collected them and will receive a grade of zero. Cheating on an assignment, quiz, test, or when grading someone else’s work will result in a zero on that work, a detention, and a mandatory final exam. Talking to another student before all tests or quizzes are handed in is considered cheating. I will not grade any work that does not have your name on it. I also will not grade any work unless it is done on 3-ring loose leaf notebook paper in pencil or black or blue ink. I follow the final exam incentive plan that is explained in your agenda. Make-up work including notes is the student’s responsibility. Try to see me before school the day you return. It is a good idea to have a parent call in to have assignments sent home. The folders on the back board have lessons plans and work. Supplies – The supplies you need are a one inch 3-ring loose leaf notebook used only for English, loose leaf notebook paper, pens and pencils, colored pencils, and markers or crayons Do not put folders or spiral notebooks in your loose leaf notebook. Bring supplies and necessary textbooks to class each day. Disciplinary actions will include warnings in some instances, detentions, calls to parents, and removal from class depending on the misbehavior. Being sent to the office is an unexcused absence which results in consequences from Mr. Gateley, a zero on the day’s work, and a mandatory final exam. . |
