What: A night of
volleyball with all proceeds going toward breast cancer research.
When: October 21
against
Monticello High School
Why: To raise awareness and
money
for breast cancer research.
How YOU can help: T-shirts are
available for pre-ordering $5 from any Unity or Monticello volleyball
player or school. They are also available to pre-order at either
high school. Shirts will be available for pick-up starting at
4:30pm at the Rocket Center. Come to the
game wearing pink so we can have a "pink out." There will be no
admission charged,
there will simply be a jar for donations at the door. There will
also be a 50/50 and a survivor's raffle. All proceeds from the
door, 50/50,
concession stand, and t-shirts will be sent straight to the Susan G.
Komen Organization.
Results: Over $3500 was sent to
Susan G. Komen in Peoria! Thank
you so much to everyone who helped make this such a successful
event! Special thanks to Mary Hettinger for speaking at the
